| Shane
McGregor, frontman and creative force for the Detroit band Sevenout, has
left the group to pursue a solo career.
Shane's new full-length album Leavin' Tinytown, on Orbital Records, is slated for release this summer. A four-song EP with singles from Leavin' Tinytown is now available on the store page. The new record was produced, recorded and mixed by John Hampton (Gin Blossoms, John Hiatt, Travis Tritt, Todd Snider, Jimmie Vaughn) at famous Ardent Studios in Memphis, TN. "The Birthplace of Rock N' Roll" has most certainly given this record an amazing vibe! Shane started playing guitar at an early age , and it came naturally to him with a mother who played piano, and a father who frequently had old records playing everything from "big band swing" to "Mexican mariachi". Shane recalls, "I can remember as a kid dancin' around doing air guitar with Brown Sugar by The Rolling Stones blasting on the console stereo, and that's the moment I knew I wanted to play guitar". Shane's influences vary but as a kid his early days were steeped in a folky Southern Rock brew of The Allman Brothers, Marshall Tucker Band, Neil Young, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and The Eagles. Shane's solo debut Leavin' Tinytown has taken him back to his roots, and he delivers a well-crafted record laced with soulful vocals, upbeat rockers, and deep songs about desire, desperation, hope, and movin' on. Leavin' Tinytown is sure to gain music fans everywhere.
